The proposal includes the replacement of all of the existing units in the building. We will be working with the existing tenants directly throughout the planning application process; as well as the City of Toronto who oversee the rental replacement process.
Land’s Edge Properties is proposing to redevelop the existing building into a new 69-storey residential building. The new modern building will include a full replacement of the 84 existing rental units. In addition, the proposal includes brand new amenities and facilities that do not exist in the building today, as well as redesigned landscaping.
No. The planning application for an Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment is under review by the City of Toronto. The application will be extensively reviewed by City Staff before a decision will be made by City Council. No changes will happen until all necessary permissions have been granted by the City.
There are multiple steps in this planning process. At this time, we are working through an Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment application and will still need to go through a Site Plan Application process before any building permits can be issued. This is a lengthy process that takes years to complete. During this time, no changes will happen until all necessary permissions have been granted by the City. If all applications are approved, the earliest it is anticipated that anyone would have to move out of the existing building is 2030.
